Size doesn't matter

Actions are more powerful than words, and numbers have no meaning.  From 5pm Friday until 6pm Saturday, I joined with a group of wonderful people to learn about hunger.  Spiritual hunger, physical hunger, serving others, and so much more. We worshiped, prayed, chatted and enjoyed being our group.

For many, this weekend is exciting. It is Groundhog weekend, you know when the groundhog sees his shadow and tells how much more winter we are going to have?  It is a wonderful thing to be able to have an animal predict how much more of one season is going to happen, especially when he is only right 39% of the time. Or maybe, this weekend is exciting for you since I think there is a huge football going on.  Wait, I know there is.. cause I am going to a party for it.  Yes, I know it is Super Bowl Weekend... but better yet, it is Souper Bowl weekend!  No, I did not just spell it wrong, it is a real thing.  Did you know that about 46 million Americans are in poverty and go without always having a bowl of soup to eat.  Over the past hours, we had a lock in and took time to learn all of this.

During the past week or so, I have felt emotionally drained and while I am physically worn out, I feel that now I am spiritually and emotionally rejuvenated.  I am blessed to be part of the amazing body of Christ, and be able to walk and do the acts of Christ with my brothers and sisters.  This weekend, we had a group of 5 adults and 2 youth.  And while they may seem small, it was powerful.  We would have had a blast if it was a huge group, but I truly believe that all things happen for a reason. We may not always understand and see the reason, but this weekend was a blessing.  I was able to spend time with those that I am close to, but also connect with those that I want to be closer to.  Being a child of God is a blessing that I take for granted.  "For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them" --Matt 18:20

Dear Heavenly Father,
You are wonderful.  Thank you for all that you have given me and please bless all those around.  I especially pray for my friends, family, community, those that do not have a bowl of soup to eat.  I want to ask a special prayer for those that are not spiritually feed by you, that together we can be your hands and feet and share the word of God.    Bless all those that are dealing with jealousy, hate, anger, fear, etc and help them deal with their issues.  In your holy name, I pray to you Lord Jesus, Amen.
